About Us
Seiter IP’s brand story is one of resilience, strength, and foresight. Despite our size and struggles, we are steadfast in our role as IP professionals to help our clients navigate the complex world of intellectual property and guide them in protecting their IP rights. The firm was founded by William J. Seiter, or Bill as he was fondly known as. Bill started the firm as a sole proprietor and a few years later, brought in Kiran, an attorney from Singapore, as his business and life partner. In 2013, Kiran and Bill expanded their IP firm to Singapore for the Southeast Asian region.
After Bill’s sudden passing in 2019, Kiran decided to keep Bill’s memory and legacy alive by continuing the firm in both regions, ensuring that our commitment to excellence and dedication to our clients remains steadfast. Though Bill has since passed, his spirit and dedication continue to inspire us every day. Bill established the Seiter brand with a singular mission: to provide unparalleled expertise and guidance in intellectual property law. His passion for protecting IP rights with heart and honesty, going the extra mile for our clients, laid the foundation for our firm’s values and principles.
Today, Seiter IP is led by two exceptional partners, Kiran and Marni, who bring over 30 years of combined experience to the firm. With a name that means "ray of light" in Sanskrit, Kiran embodies the illumination and guidance we strive to provide our clients. Her warmth, professionalism, and conscientious approach have earned her a stellar reputation in the field of intellectual property law, especially trademark law. Kiran's expertise in working with businesses ensures that our clients receive the most insightful and strategic advice. Marni is a seasoned expert with a deep understanding of the nuances of intellectual property throughout the Southeast Asian region, having been in the field since 1995. Marni complements Kiran’s strengths with her analytical prowess and dedication to client success. Her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence have been instrumental in securing the intellectual assets of numerous businesses.

Our brand – the symbolism of the lighthouse
Although we continue to have two offices – Seiter Legal Studio in Los Angeles and Seiter IP Consultants LLP in Singapore – effective 1 October 2025, we shall holistically and jointly be known as Seiter IP. To mark this important milestone and as we continue to grow and evolve, we are proud to introduce our new brand and logo, which encapsulates the essence of Seiter IP, a multi-jurisdictional IP firm.
Our new logo features a lighthouse, a powerful symbol of light when there is darkness; it is there to guide and provide protection from dangerous waters. When our clients struggle or feel lost in navigating intellectual property within their respective businesses, we are here to provide them with the guiding light. We chose the lighthouse as our symbol because we are the beacon of light for our clients who may be in the dark about their IP rights and how to protect them for maximum value. We are always there to strategize with them and offer the guidance they seek. The lighthouse was first chosen by Bill when he first started the firm Seiter & Co. We have now brought the lighthouse back to our name as a tribute to Bill and for what our firm stands for.
Accompanying the lighthouse are rays of light, which also happen to represent the meaning of Kiran’s name. The rays of light symbolize hope, clarity, and the direction we provide to businesses steering through the often-turbulent waters of intellectual property rights.
